Karen Miller
Evelyn had a blast working on I Wanna Be Famous. As comedy is a keen passion of hers, along with a curiosity in questioning our modern relationship with social media, she knew this project was right for her! She graduated from The National Theatre School of Canada in 2019 and most recently, has appeared in Murdoch Mysteries as well as The Judas Kiss with Talk Is Free Theatre.
Stephanie Correia
Sarah Miller
Stephanie was born in Toronto, and began her performing arts career in dance. Starting as a dancer, she grew to become a teacher, and then the owner and Director of her own dance school. Stephanie’s love of performance drew to her pursue a career in acting at the age of 36. Receiving her training at RAW (Rooney Actors Workshop), allowed Stephanie to develop as a performer, and truly fall in love with the art of acting.
Being part of ‘I Wanna Be Famous’ has been a wonderful experience, and a project that Stephanie is personally very excited about. Having trained young dancers for over 20 years, Stephanie has seen first-hand the impact that social media can have on young girls. This film takes a candid approach to an issue that deserves to be heard and addressed. Chanel and her team’s commitment to the film is admirable, and Stephanie is proud of all the hard work that has gone into the creation of this film.
Stephanie would like to thank Rick, Evelyn and Aiden for being such a wonderful and inspiring team to work with. She learned and grew as an actor having the experience of working with you all.
Chanel Tossounian
Director
Chanel Tossounian is a director and writer from Bradford, Ontario. She is currently in her final year at Humber College, studying Film and Television production. She hopes to continue to write and direct other impactful shorts and features that speak to a wide audience about socially relevant issues. Chanel writes scripts that commonly have an important underlying message in hopes her audience will leave thinking about what they just watched. As for I Wanna Be Famous, Chanel wrote the screenplay specifically to speak to the younger generation about some dangers of social media. She believes this to be an ongoing concern with our obsession with social media and our continuous digital advancements. However, she believes that despite social media providing some communal gain and positivity, to young, impressionable minds the line between reality and fabrication is easy to miss. She dedicates her time to mastering the craft of screenwriting and directing actors. Outside of film, Chanel enjoys reading, self-development, and personal fitness.
Debayudh Joardar
Assistant Editor
Debayudh Joardar is a third-year student at Humber College in Film and
Television Production program. He previously completed a video design and
production program at George Brown College. He is working hard to earn his
place in the film industry. He has worked on the student documentary
Redundancies as the Editor, and also worked on the short student film Private
Eye and Apple Pie as the Gaffer. Recently, he has worked on the short
student film Bring Home the Rain as the Boom Operator, Assistant editor on a
short student film I Wanna Be Famous and Higher Governance. He is also the
Editor for Cultivation of a Killer. In his free time, Debayudh enjoys watching TV
shows and Movies.
Stefan Watson
Sound Location Recordist
Stefan Watson is a third year student at Humber College’s Film & Television production program. Over the years at school, Stefan has worked on many projects as a cinematographer, such as “Anywhere But Here” “W.I.F.T” and “Cultivation of a Killer”. Stefan wishes to pursue this career once leaving Humber, in hopes of joining a camera union for film and television. In his free time, Stefan enjoys playing the piano, playing video games and spending time with family and friends
Yi Man
Director of Photography
As an aspiring filmmaker, Yi Man worked in the media and publishing field in Shanghai, China for a decade before he resided in Markham, Ontario. His award-winning photography works have been exhibited in China and UK. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Tongji University and is currently a 3rd-year student in Film and TV Production Program at Humber College. He has worked as 2nd AC, 1st AC, Cam Op, DP, and Director in various Humber Production short films.
Anna Di Giovanni
Casting Director/2nd AC
Anna Di Giovanni was very excited to be the Casting Director for I Wanna Be Famous. Directing comedy is what Anna specialises in and she wanted to help be a second opinion for who should be cast in the roles. Anna is passionate about Cinematography and Directing and will be making her directorial debut with the upcoming short ‘Meter’s Running’. She is also the Cinematographer for the upcoming Humber IP ‘Cultivation of a Killer’.
Derek Murril

Derek is an experienced sound editor and has experience in all areas of the sound department. These include production sound mixer, boom operator, ADR/ Foley recordist, and post mixer
Aidan Miller
Kalvin Miller
plays the role of Calvin, is extremely proud to be joining the cast of I Wanna Be Famous. The role was one he could identify with, having similar growing pains with his twin sister. Aidan started acting four years ago, and this is his third student short he has been included in. Aidan has had other roles in public service announcements and commercials, including spots for Wall Street Journal and Royal Bank.
Rick Hastings
John Miller
Rick Hastings is a Toronto-based actor with numerous roles in short films, television shows and national commercials. He is represented by Ilona DiCaro of Bean & Co. Talent. As a father himself, Rick was drawn to the subject matter of the film, specifically the pressures of living in a social media world and the effect it has on young people. Rick worked with Chanel and her crew on an earlier project and was delighted to reunite with the team to tell this story.
Alejandra Campos De Leon
Producer
Alejandra Campos De Leon was born and raised in Panama and moved to Canada in 2019 to pursue her dream to become a filmmaker. After finding her love of film she discovered she has a passion for different facets of movie-making. She has found to like all areas of the pre-production, production, and post-production phases, especially as DP, producer & post sound roles. She is currently studying in the Film & TV Production program at Humber College.
Finn Johnston
Assistant Director
Finn Johnston is a student at Humber College in the Film and Television Production advanced diploma program and is in her fourth year. Originally from Ottawa, Finn has been working on films since high school and now considers Toronto home. With 9 other short films to her credit, this is Finn’s third time working as an Assistant Director and she had a blast on set. When Finn isn’t working on productions, she enjoys exploring the city, listening to music, and of course, watching movies. In the future she hopes to become an Assistant Director and continue to pursue her passion for film.
Ahmet Boyanci

Following a career in business, and Ahmet Boyanci settled in Canada in 2018. A soon to be graduate of Humber's Film & Television Production Program, he is seeking opportunities to work in camera and lighting. He created boyanciimage as a trademark for promoting his artistic and commercial photographs, showreels, documentaries and short films.

Boom Op
Sebastian Glassco is the Boom Op for I Wanna Be Famous. Focused on sound design and music, he's currently in his final semester in the Film and Television program.
Hannah Clare Rose
Story Editor/ Production Manager/ Craft
Hannah Clare Rose is a filmmaker and student in her final year of the Film and Television Program at Humber College. Hannah has always been drawn to stories about those who are marginalised and misunderstood--she loves to help share these stories in any role she can. As story editor and caterer on I Wanna Be Famous, Hannah made sure both the story, and the cast and crew, got the fuel that they needed to make this a project to be proud of.
Mevin Capistrano
1st AC
Mevin Capistrano is a third-year student at Humber College's Film and Television Production program. He has written and directed three short films thus far, while also worked as a 2nd Camera Assistant, Cinematographer, and Editor. An aspiring director, screenwriter, and visual storyteller, he hopes to make more films further into his career and tell unique, compelling stories.
